Dr. Bouzouaya was the first non-American to be appointed to the function of Medical Director of Orbis International in New York, a non-governmental organization fighting blindness worldwide. Orbis teaches all around the world the most modern surgical techniques in ophthalmology, using an airplane that has been transformed into a state of the art eye hospital. As Medical Director, Dr. Bouzouaya operated and taught eye doctors in over 30 countries over a period of five years.
Some years ago, he decided to move back to his country of origin, Tunisia, where he now runs his own successful clinic in the country's capital Tunis. He takes care of most of the expatriate communities in Tunisia. He is the appointed eye specialist of several Embassies. He is a selected member of the US organization HTH and receives patients from Europe, the Middle East and neighboring countries.
He continues to lecture in international congresses worldwide.
He conducts workshops in his clinic in Tunis to train other doctors in his personal techniques in cosmetic eyelid surgery.
